Strategy Overview
Fairy
Togekiss possesses great bulk, decent typing, and a variety of offensive and utility moves. It's the only Fairy-type with access to Defog and can support its team with moves such as Heal Bell and Thunder Wave. Its access to Air Slash and Serene Grace gives it a 60% chance to make slower foes flinch, which makes it an excellent stallbreaker and Choice Scarf user. Its access to offensive moves such as Fire Blast and Aura Sphere allows it to deal with Steel-types that threaten Fairy such as Heatran, Empoleon, Ferrothorn, and even an unboosted Mega Scizor. Togekiss's Flying typing gives Fairy a Ground switch-in and a check to Pokemon like Mega Garchomp and Landorus, which Fairy would normally struggle with. With most Fairy-type Pokemon being slow, Togekiss can provide a great revenge killer with a Choice Scarf. Despite the many things it has going for it, Togekiss is weak to many common types such as Ice, Electric, and Rock, the latter of which gives it a Stealth Rock weakness, which hurts its defensive capabilities. It also has a mediocre Speed stat, leaving it outsped by many other Pokemon and faster Choice Scarf users. It also faces competition as a Choice Scarf user from Gardevoir, which has access to Healing Wish and stronger STAB moves.
