Skarmory

Skarmory is a necessity on Steel teams because of its invaluable defensive utility. Skarmory's Flying typing gives it a Ground immunity and Fighting neutrality, which, along with its massive Defense stat, helps check major threats to Steel teams such as Excadrill and Mega Gallade. With Roost and Leftovers, Skarmory can stay healthy throughout most games to check multiple threats, and Whirlwind prevents it from being setup fodder. Skarmory can also provide Spikes to help wear down the opposing team through the switches it forces. However, Skarmory is very vulnerable to special attackers, and it can fall short in checking wallbreakers such as Nidoking and Landorus.
