Strategy Overview
Rhyperior has a great base 140 Attack that allows it to hit hard with its STAB EdgeQuake combination. It also has amazing 115 / 130 physical bulk, meaning it can take all physical hits and retaliate fairly well. Solid Rock further augments Rhyperior's bulk, allowing it to take nearly any super effective physical hit and proceed to set up Stealth Rock, phaze the foe with Roar, or hit hard with a STAB Earthquake or Stone Edge. It also has an amazing movepool, including moves such as Megahorn, Superpower, and Ice Punch. However, Rhyperior's base 55 Special Defense means it is very weak to special attacks, and its typing leaves it weak to common special attacking types such as Water, Grass, and Ice. It also has an abysmal base 40 Speed, meaning Rhyperior must always take a hit before it can proceed to do anything.
