Klefki

Klefki has a great typing and decent bulk that allows it to check a variety of threats in Ubers, such as Xerneas, Darkrai, Yveltal, Latias, and Latios. Its ability Prankster is exceptional in conjunction with Thunder Wave, letting Klefki act as a safety net to check fast sweepers and attackers, such as Geomancy Xerneas, Mega Salamence, and Mewtwo; its ability to check a wide range of Pokemon makes it a good choice for role compression in teambuilding. Klefki also has access to Toxic, which can pressure Defog users and wear down Primal Groudon, and Spikes, which it can set up reliably because it has Toxic to put a timer on Defog users and can check many common Pokemon. Unfortunately, Primal Groudon's overbearing presence in the metagame greatly hinders Klefki's ability to function, as its immunity to Thunder Wave deters Klefki from freely using the move; Ho-Oh's presence is also a problem, as it can switch in easily and hit Klefki and its teammates hard while possibly spreading burns as well. Klefki also has exploitable weaknesses to common Ground- and Fire-type coverage moves, and it lacks reliable recovery, so it can be worn down throughout the match.
