Strategy Overview
Glalie's niche in PU lies in its access to both Spikes and Taunt, the former being beneficial due to the lack of reliable entry hazard removers in the PU metagame and the latter allowing it to take on Defoggers such as Vullaby and prevent them from removing its Spikes. Taunt also allows Glalie to prevent leads such as Golem from setting up entry hazards, and its high Speed allows it to outspeed most spinners and Stealth Rock setters. However, Glalie faces slight competition as a Spikes suicide lead from Venipede and Quilladin; the former has Speed Boost and Endeavor, and the latter is bulkier. Glalie is also limited to only one layer of Spikes due to its poor bulk. Glalie is one dimensional due to its average at best stats along with a poor defensive typing, and it is outclassed by other offensive Ice-types such as Regice if it attempts to run an offensive set.
