Strategy Overview

Fighting

Breloom is the only Fighting-type with access to Spore, which allows it to set up easily and has perfect accuracy. Its ability Technician gives a boost to its attacks that have less than 60 Base Power such as Mach Punch, Bullet Seed, and Rock Tomb. Breloom's typing helps Fighting's Ground and Water matchup, and due to its access to a priority STAB move in Mach Punch, it is able to check many faster threats. With a Focus Sash and access to Mach Punch, Breloom can effectively check many threats to Fighting-type teams, including weather sweepers like Kingdra, Excadrill, and Mega Swampert. Its access to Swords Dance also lets Breloom wallbreak more efficiently, and it works especially well with Mach Punch. On the other hand, Breloom has low defensive and Speed stats, which means it often has to rely on priority to attack the foe before they can attack it. It can get revenge killed without difficulty, and it can't switch into most unresisted attacks. Breloom relies on Rock Tomb as coverage due to its STAB types being mediocre offensively. Lastly, Breloom's typing is pleasant but opens up more weaknesses.
