Strategy Overview

Mega Blastoise's ability to check and counter some of the top threats makes it a great anti-meta Pokemon. Mega Launcher boosts Mega Blastoise's aura and pulse moves by 50%, making it an effective wallbreaker. Furthermore, it has access to a lot of coverage moves, such as Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, and Ice Beam, and excellent bulk that allows it to tank powerful attacks. Mega Blastoise is also very versatile, functioning as a lead as well as a late-game sweeper. However, Mega Blastoise has a subpar Speed stat and requires some form of speed control from Pokemon such as Thundurus and Cresselia. It is also weak to common Electric-types such as Thundurus and Rotom-W and as it has no form of recovery, it is worn down easily by status conditions.
