Azelf finds itself being one of the most effective suicide leads in OU again as Mega Sableye has been banned, its high Speed tier and access to Taunt and Explosion grant it many opportunities to set up Stealth Rock, shutting down slower Pokemon such as Garchomp with Taunt, while Explosion allows Azelf to block Defog and Rapid Spin, giving its teammates an opportunity to come in afterwards. However, problems Azelf face are faster Taunt users such as Tornadus-T and Alakazam, as well as being forced to run a Steel-type move or Skill Swap to deal with Mega Diancie.
