Strategy Overview
Ferroseed is a niche entry hazard setter thanks to its great Eviolite-boosted bulk and defensive typing letting it take on Flying-, Electric-, Water-, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Aerodactyl, Heliolisk, Blastoise, and Whimsicott. Thanks to these qualities, Ferroseed has a lot of opportunities to set up Spikes or Stealth Rock. Iron Barbs lets it get some chip damage on physical attackers such as Togedemaru while also giving it a fantastic matchup against Dhelmise and Blastoise, punishing any attempt of using Rapid Spin. On top of this, Ferroseed has access to many utility moves such as Leech Seed, Protect, and Knock Off to cripple opposing Pokemon. However, its lackluster offensive stats make Ferroseed setup bait for Pokemon like Braviary and Delphox. It also depends on its Eviolite to deal with Pokemon, making it susceptible to Knock Off. Furthermore, its typing makes it vulnerable to Fire- and Fighting-type Pokemon such as Incineroar, Passimian, and Magmortar, the first two being some of the best Pokemon in the tier.
