Strategy Overview

Bellossom's exclusive access to both Strength Sap and Quiver Dance provides it with a unique niche. The first of Bellossom's great niches as a sweeper lies in Strength Sap, which increases its longevity while making up for its lack of defensive investment, allowing Bellossom to force physical attackers such as Gurdurr and Stoutland to switch out after lowering their Attack. Quiver Dance allows Bellossom to avoid becoming overwhelmed by special attackers, outspeed and deal significant damage to neutral or super effective targets, and even sometimes sweep if Bellossom's checks and counters are removed or weakened. However, Bellossom has incredibly average stats before boosting, which can cause it to be overwhelmed by physical and special wallbreakers such as Alolan Raticate and Nasty Plot Jynx or outsped by the likes of Choice Scarf Dodrio and Slush Rush Alolan Sandslash, which all can OHKO or 2HKO Bellossom.
