Strategy Overview

While the combination of Head Smash and Rock Head alongside a good offensive movepool might seem enticing, Relicanth is a poor attacker due to its low Speed and mediocre Attack. Despite having weaker Rock-type STAB attacks, Kabutops and Rhydon outclass it due to the former having way more utility with Knock Off, Rapid Spin, and Flip Turn, and the latter having much better power and bulk. Relicanth also struggles to break through bulky Pokemon like Tangela and Palossand even with Toxic, making it even more difficult to justify running.
