Strategy Overview

Qwilfish makes for a solid Spikes user in PU. Its high Speed tier differentiates itself from other Spikes users like Ferroseed and Garbodor, making it a good fit on more offensive teams. It is a decent switch-in to Fighting-types such as Poliwrath and works against Swords Dance Silvally formes in a pinch as well. Also, it is one of the few Toxic Spikes absorbers available. Qwilfish frequently gets opportunities to set Spikes against defensive Pokemon such as Audino and Aromatisse that cannot threaten it. However, Qwilfish is checked by common special attackers like Galarian Articuno and Charizard. Qwilfish also struggles against common entry hazard removers such as Rotom due to being worn down too fast.
