Choice Specs Golduck is listed as unviable because it struggles to break past some of the premier special walls like Articuno, Clefairy, and Cryogonal. It is outclassed as a special wallbreaker by Jynx and Skuntank due to their access to Nasty Plot, better coverage moves, and support moves such as Lovely Kiss in Jynx's case and Taunt and Corrosive Gas in Skuntank's case to help debilitate opposing walls. Golduck being forced to rely on an inaccurate move in Hydro Pump and having no secondary STAB move to break through targets is also less than ideal.
