Amoonguss

With access to Spore, Rage Powder, and Regenerator, Amoonguss acts as a great support Pokemon on teams that take advantage of the free turns that it provides through redirection and status. Amoonguss's low Speed also makes it one of the strongest Trick Room checks in VGC 2022, as once Trick Room is set up, it can move before almost every common Pokemon and put them to sleep with Spore. Amoonguss is often paired with some of the most potent Restricted Pokemon in the metagame like Zacian-C, Kyogre, and Palkia due to its ability to buy extra turns for them and them checking threats to it like Incineroar and Rotom-H. However, a few prominent weaknesses prevent Amoonguss from being a complete menace to the format. Pokemon like Incineroar, Rotom-H, and Zapdos deal heavy damage to Amoonguss and commonly use Safety Goggles to be immune to Spore and Rage Powder. Amoonguss also has a glaring weakness to Max Airstream—one of the most common Max Moves used in the format. Amoonguss can also simply be OHKOed by powerful attackers like Charizard, Calyrex-I, and Calyrex-S before they Dynamax.
