Strategy Overview
-
Sneasler leverages its high Attack and Speed in tandem with its powerful STAB moves and Unburden to become a very dangerous offensive threat. Its STAB moves allow it to threaten many common metagame threats with OHKOs, namely Incineroar, Rillaboom, the Ogerpon formes, and Ursaluna.
-
Sneasler struggles greatly with foes that resist its STAB moves such as Landorus, Gholdengo, Iron Crown, and Tornadus, all of which can threaten Sneasler back with an OHKO. It also struggles to hit Amoonguss, which can be problematic because it stops Sneasler from hitting its common partners like Ursaluna that Sneasler can otherwise threaten.
-
Flutter Mane pairs very well with Sneasler, as it greatly appreciate's Sneasler's ability to threaten Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W, which Flutter Mane can struggle with. In return, Flutter Mane hits Landorus with Icy Wind for Sneasler. Raging Bolt also is a great partner as it can threaten Flying-types like Tornadus, which resist Sneasler's Close Combat; Sneasler can help Raging Bolt back by threatening Fairy-types such as Flutter Mane, which are immune to its Dragon-type STAB moves. Galarian Moltres greatly helps Sneasler by threatening Iron Crown, Gholdengo, and Landorus, the latter two of which otherwise wall its STAB moves, while Sneasler can hit Incineroar and Tera Fairy Raging Bolt, which resist Galarian Moltres's Dark-type moves.
