Strategy Overview

Toxicroak safely switches into slow-paced walls such as Milotic and Suicune thanks to Dry Skin and its immunity to Toxic, giving it ample setup opportunities. Boosted Toxicroak can be an issue for balance teams, as its STAB moves minimize opposing switch-in options other than Crobat. Its typing allows it to naturally stave off Golisopod, Roserade, and Sharpedo, but, due to its frailty, it relies on entry hazard removal to do so. Toxicroak does not fare well in one-on-one matchups against Steelix, Metagross, or Reuniclus early-game due to its frailty and underwhelming power without Swords Dance or Nasty Plot boosts. Faster threats like Raikou and Noivern can also overwhelm Toxicroak easily, as Sucker Punch is too weak to pick them off without a massive amount of prior chip damage.
