Strategy Overview
Duraludon's wallbreaking capabilities are defined by its excellent coverage, which makes it a great Expert Belt user. Thanks to Duraludon's good Speed and Draco Meteor + Eject Pack combo, it's also able to act as a decent one-time pivot and wallbreaker. Even in unfavorable matchups against walls it can't get past alone, Duraludon is still able to safely make progress against Copperajah, Vaporeon, and Escavalier. Its serviceable physical bulk and Steel typing allow it to switch into the likes of Talonflame, Ninjask, and bulky Poison-types. However, Duraludon has very poor Special Defense, making it very vulnerable to faster special attackers such as Salazzle, Starmie, and Volt Switch users. Duraludon also faces large competition with other Dragon- and Steel-type wallbreakers like Alolan Exeggutor and Copperajah because it's unable to properly check Pokemon a typical Dragon- or Steel-type would check, such as Rotom-C, Exploud, Sylveon, and more, leading to its team requiring type stacking and more compensation.
